Who I am depends on when and where you catch me.
And then there are those times when I like to wear leather from head to toe. There's nothing like the feeling of leather. Keeps you warm and dry, it looks cool, it feels good, it's durable, it's just plain nice.
No, I don't drive a Harley. I couldn't afford one. I can't afford a car either, which is why I drive a bike. Well, they're also fun. But they are dangerous. I guess the danger factor adds to the experience, though I do not like pain (well... not THAT kind of pain). And there's nothing like riding with a member of the opposite sex on back, holding on to you (assuming of course you are heterosexual like myself).
Right now, I'm driving a Kawasaki 1000 "Police Special" which was formerly driven by the California Highway Patrol. Really nice bike, IMHO. I've customized it -- by removing the fairing and windshield and building a new headlight fixture. I will complete the conversion by building a passenger seat, removing the dent from the tank, and giving it a spiffy paint job.
1999 update: After having my bike totaled and losing my spleen in the process, thanks to a drunk driver, I am now driving a stylish 1984 Buick nick-named "The G-Ride" by my friends. But I still plan on getting another bike, maybe if I ever get a settlement from the insurance company.
Sometimes I just kick back with my freinds, have a beer (no piss water please) or a bottle of wine or whatever, and relax. Or go to a park and meditate. It amazes me how some people simply cannot just relax and take it easy (or how, conversely, some people do nothing BUT relax...)
A perfect way to relax is with a good freind (or freinds, or a "date") in a quiet place, with a loaf of fresh french bread, some cheese, a bottle of wine, grapes, and good conversation. Unfortunately there are few folks who can appreciate such simple pleasures.
Sex: Male Age: 28 Height: 5' 7" Weight: 140lbs Eyes: 2, dark brown, w/glassesI have long straight dark brown hair, I'm thin (but not a gangly toothpick), I have light coloured skin (a "winter" complexion for those who know what that is). My ancestors are polish/russion (mother) and Scottish/Manx (father), which leaves me at least half "Celtic". I've always had an affinity for the Celts, I just identify with them (Ireland, Scottland, The Isle Of Man [Manx] are Celtic).
Some people have said I look like Geddy Lee (rock musician from a group called Rush, for you less cultured folk :), but I think he's much uglier than myself. :) Someone also said I look sorta like John Lennon. Finaly, I saw a depeche mode poster with a leather jacket that is exactly like one I (used to) have, and thus, I looked much like the poster. And then there are the frequent dopelgangers I run into..
I write some poetry, as it strikes me (inspiration), but mostly I like to write prose. I don't feel that my poetry is really impressive, at least not like the poetry that I like to read.
I consider music to be poetry. I would like to be able to write poetry/lyrics like Pink Floyd / Roger Waters, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and others. I also like "traditional" poetry like Emily Dickenson (my favorite).
I envision my stories in my head like a movie with a great soundtrack. In fact most of my stories are inspired by music. I tape the songs that are the basis for a story, so I can listen to them while I write. I would, therefore, like to see my stories made into films, or some kind of visual - audio medium.
Presently I am working as a Web Developer, doing HTML and Coldfusion coding, JavaScript, etc.
I've always been "torn" between the world of science and the world of spirituality. I love computers, but I also love writing (which I consider to be a spiritual thing). I'm right on the line. I can be deadly serious and rational, and I can be totaly romantic and spiritual. If I had to choose one or the other, I think I'd go with my spiritual side. But I believe in carefull balances (yes, I'm a Libra, and even though I don't put much stock in such things, I can't help but be amazed at how "Libran" I am :)
I don't think there should be any conflict between spirituality and science; the separation and seeming implication that they are mutualy exclusive is, in my opinion, an artificial duality that needn't be made (now there's a mouthfull!). There's no reason they cannot both coexist and complement each other. One vision.
I play classical guitar (accoustic), though again, I don't practice enough. I would like to compose music, but that's just another thing I don't have time for right now. Finaly, I'd like to sing, but I don't think my voice is good enough. I would really love to express myself musicaly, but it is hard to find the right people to work with.
In my spare time, I'm an inventor. Unfortunately, it's hard to get your inventions made. Also, I tend to invent things that've already been invented, and I just didn't know about it. :) Or, somebody invents it after I did, and is able to make it were I could not. But, at least I know I could have done it too.
